The Atelier
Six candles, one room.
We are a small candle house on the fifth floor of a building on Great Portland Street. We pour by hand, in batches of forty, with the windows open in summer and closed in winter.

01 — Origin
Why London. Why six.
Bloomiva began on a wet January morning in a fifth-floor office on Great Portland Street. We had a small wax pot, a sample box of fragrance oils sent from Grasse, and a stubborn idea — that a candle could be written the way a song is written, for a single hour and a single mood.
Six felt like the right number. Enough for a year of weather. Few enough that we could pour every single one ourselves.
02 — The Wax
Soy and coconut. Never paraffin.
Our wax is a slow-burning blend of organic soy and refined coconut. It holds fragrance the way warm air holds it — gently, evenly, without that sharp first hour you get from harder waxes.
Paraffin is cheaper and easier to work with. We don't use it. The smell of petrochemicals has no place in a candle that's meant to make a room feel like itself.
03 — The Wick
Cotton, lead-free, hand-trimmed.
A candle is its wick. We use plaited cotton, lead-free, sized individually for each fragrance load. Every wick is trimmed to 5mm before it leaves the atelier.
If you do nothing else with this candle, trim the wick before each burn. It's the difference between a clean flame and a soot-stained glass.
04 — The Vessel
Mouth-blown. From a single Northern atelier.
Our glass is made by a small studio outside Manchester — a father, a daughter, a furnace that's older than either of them. Every vessel is mouth-blown, which means every one is slightly different. A bubble here, a thicker rim there. We consider these features.
When the candle is finished, the glass is meant to be kept. Wash it out with warm water. Use it for a small bouquet, a cup of pencils, a single tealight.
